Ann Curry
Ann Curry has worked as journalist for more than nearly 45 years. Her focus is on natural disasters as well as war zones. Curry has reported on wars all over the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, born November 19 1956 (Agana) was an American journalist who served as an anchor on television. Curry is known for her coverage of emergencies and disasters that affect the human condition, especially in countries that have been devastated by war. Curry's mother was Japanese American and her U.S. Navy-sailor dad played prominent roles in Curry's life. Her father dated her mother in Japan as a stationed there following World War II. Due to the military service of her father, the family has moved around several times. Curry finished highschool at Ashland Oregon. She graduated with a journalism degree at The University of Oregon in 1978. As a child she had the privilege of being exposed to various kinds of cultures. Curry could not be a student at a particular school in the cities of San Diego, Alameda Oregon, or Virginia during the two-year period due to her family relocated frequently. She finally graduated from Ashland High School. Her first job led to a lucrative job by becoming a broadcasting intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. She was the first female news anchor at this station when she was just 22. In the following years, she worked as anchor and reporter at KGW at Portland Oregon. Then she returned in Los Angeles four years later to work as a reporter for KCBS TV. There were two Emmy Awards were won during her six year association with the KCBS-TV.
